Let's make our communication skills a little more worthy.
NET WOTH
Meaning: It is the total value of a person's/company's assets after deducting all the debts. ( सभी ऋणों को घटाकर किसी व्यक्ति/कंपनी की परिसंपत्तियों का कुल मूल्य)
Net worth gives an impression of economic status.
• The average net worth of our clients is around $2 million.
• हमारे ग्राहकों की औसत नेट वर्थ करीब 2 मिलियन डॉलर है
SELF WORTH
Meaning: Self-worth is the belief and opinions that you have of yourself and your abilities. (अपने और अपनी क्षमताओं के बारे में आपकी खुद की राय )
• To create a confident personality, positive self-worth is a must.
• एक आत्मविश्वासी व्यक्तित्व बनाने के लिए सकारात्मक आत्म-मूल्य का होना आवश्यक है।
WORTH YOUR SALT
Meaning: To be efficient or competent in your job/profession.(अपनी नौकरी / काम / पेशे में कुशल या सक्षम होना
• Any political leader worth his/her salt fulfils the promises made during the election campaign.
• कोई भी कुशल नेता चुनाव प्रचार के दौरान किये अपने वादों को पूरा करता है।
WORTH ONE'S WEIGHT IN GOLD
Meaning: It's used for something that is extremely valuable. (अत्यंत मूल्यवान)
• Sam performed very well in the final match, he is definitely worth his weight in gold.
• Sam ने अंतिम मैच में बहुत अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया, वह निश्चित रूप से टीम के लिए बेहद मूल्यवान है।
WORTH ONE'S WHILE
Meaning: If a work gives you good benefits and advantages despite the extra time and effort, then you say: it's worth your while. (अतिरिक्त समय और प्रयास के बावजूद अच्छे लाभ और फायदा होने कि स्थिति )
• I know it's less money but you'll get some good experience. I think this job is definitely worth your while.
• मुझे पता है कि इस काम में पैसा काम है लेकिन आपको बहुत अच्छा अनुभव मिलेगा। मुझे लगता है कि यह नौकरी तुम्हारे लिए फायदेमंद है ।
NOT WORTH A DIME
Meaning: Something that is worthless or good-for-nothing. (व्यर्थ, बेकार)
• He'll do what he wants, your efforts to change him are not worth a dime.
• वह जो चाहता है वही करता है, उसे बदलने के आपके प्रयास बेकार हैं।
WORTH A SHOT
Meaning: Used for something worth trying to do because there are chances of being successful. (कोशिश करने लायक कार्य जिमे सफलता कि संभावना हो)
• Your plan is very risky but I feel it's worth a shot.
• तुम्हारी योजना बहुत जोखिम भरी है पर मझे लगता है कि कोशिश करने में कोई बुराई नहीं है।
TWO PENNIES' WORTH
Meaning: It's a humble idiomatic American slang used which means 'someone's opinion, ideas, or point of view'. ( विचार, राय, या दृष्टिकोण )
• If I can just put in my two pennies' worth, I think that we should raise the salary of our staff from the next year.
• मेरी राय में, हमें अगले साल से हमारे कर्मचारियों का वेतन बढ़ा देना चाहिए।
