Preposition of place are the words that tell us about the location of something or someone.
A PREPOSITION, as their name suggests, is mostly placed before (pre) the word with which it is associated.
Pre = पहले
Position = स्थान
Preposition of place हमे किसी वस्तु या इंसान की ठीक जगह व स्थान बताने में अत्यंत मदद करते हैं।
Although there are a number of prepositions that can be used to express the location, we'll start off with some basic ones:

Used to refer: An enclosed space (बंद जगह) • She was sitting in her room.(वह अपने कमरे में बैठी थी) • He sits in the office during lunchtime.(वह दोपहर के भोजन के दौरान कार्यालय में बैठता है)
Location within an enclosed space (एक बंद जगह के भीतर का स्थान) • There is a big tree in the middle of the garden.(बगीचे के बीच में एक बड़ा पेड़ है) • The book was lying in the corner of the room.(पुस्तक कमरे के कोने में पड़ी हुई थी।) A permanent residential place(जहाँ आप रहते हैं: शहर, देश या कोई भी आवासीय पते का नाम) • My brother lives in London.(मेरा भाई लंदन में रहता है) • They both live in Delhi.(वे दोनों दिल्ली में रहते हैं) To be somewhere temporarily (कहीं अस्थायी रूप से होना) • He is staying in the hotel tonight.(वह आज रात होटल में रह रहा है) • He is in town these days. (वह इन दिनों शहर में है) Something that contains an image, writing or reflection(ऐसी कोई चीज़ जिसमें छवि, लेख या प्रतिबिंब होता है) • She looked at herself in the mirror.(उसने खुद को दर्पण में देखा) • I saw your picture in the newspaper.(मैंने अखबार में आपकी तस्वीर देखी) • She has written real-life stories in her book.(उसने अपनी पुस्तक में वास्तविक जीवन की कहानियां लिखी हैं) An object that can contain something (एक वस्तु जिसके भीतर कुछ मौजूद है या रखा जा सके) • I have kept your clothes in the cupboard.(मैंने आपके कपड़े अलमारी में रखे हैं ) • There is no water in the jug.(जग में पानी नहीं है) Vehicles (वाहन) • I'm waiting for you in the car.(मैं गाड़ी में आपका इंतज़ार कर रहा हूँ) • She is afraid to sit in a boat.(वह नाव में बैठने से डरती है) An organised system (एक सयोंजित व नियमबद्ध व्यवस्था ) • The smallest planet in the Solar System is 'Mercury'.(सौर मंडल का सबसे छोटा ग्रह 'बुध' है) • Go and stand in that line.(जा कर उस लाइन में खड़े हो जाओ)ON
Used to refer: A surface where something is kept above or is attached to it (वस्तु जो किसी सतह के ऊपर राखी या जुड़ा हुई है) • The keys are on the table.(चाबियाँ मेज़ पर हैं) • I want to put this picture on the wall.(मैं इस तस्वीर को दीवार पर लगाना चाहता हूं) Place where someone lives i.e. the floor or a street (रहने का स्थान जैसे मंज़िल या सड़क/स्ट्रीट) • The hotel is on an old street.(होटल एक पुरानी सड़क पर स्थित है) • My apartment is on the first floor.(मेरा अपार्टमेंट पहली मंजिल पर है) To indicate directional (left/right) location. (दिशात्मक स्थान बताने के लिए) • The shop is on the left.(दुकान बाईं तरफ है) • The girl who is standing on the right is my sister.(जो लड़की दाईं तरफ खड़ी है वह मेरी बहन है) Nearby or along.(आसपास या साथ में) • His house is on the beach.(उसका घर समुद्र तट पर है) • Cambridge is on the River Cam.(कैंब्रिज नदी कैम पर स्थित है) Certain modes of transport.(परिवहन के साधन) • I will go there on foot.(मैं वहाँ पैदल जाऊँगा) • She usually travels on the bus.(वह आम तौर पर बस में यात्रा करती है) For electronic media devices.(इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडिया उपकरणों के लिए) • I watched her interview on TV.(मैंने टीवी पर उसका इंटरव्यू देखा) • I like listening songs on the radio.(मुझे रेडियो पर गाने सुनना पसंद है) For some body parts.(शरीर के कुछ अंगों के लिए) • There was a smile on his face.(उनके चेहरे पर एक मुस्कुराहट थी) • There is a mole on his chin.(उसकी ठोड़ी पर एक तिल है)AT
Used to refer: The exact position of something or someone. (किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु का सटीक स्थान) • I was standing at the bus stop.(मैं बस स्टॉप पर खड़ा था) • I saw you at the entrance door.(मैंने आपको प्रवेश द्वार पर देखा था) A usual activity place.(एक सामान्य गतिविधि का स्थान) • He always arrives late at school.(वह हमेशा स्कूल में देर से आता है।) • She is at work.(वह अभी काम पर गयी है।) Your presence in any event. (किसी आयोजन में आपकी उपस्थिती) • I met her at a friend's party.(मैं उसे एक दोस्त की पार्टी में मिला था।) • Everybody was present at his funeral.(हर कोई उसके अंतिम संस्कार में उपस्थित था।) A particular point/spot. (एक विशेष स्थल) • Sign at the bottom of the page.(पृष्ठ के निचले भाग पर हस्ताक्षर करें) • Meet me at the corner of the street.(मुझे सड़क के कोने पर मिलो) A specific time.
