Heartbreak यानी दिल टूटना एक expression है अत्यंत दुःख को ज़ाहिर करने के लिए। वास्तव में कभी किसी का दिल टूट तो नहीं सकता लेकिन फिर भी हम अपने pain को व्यक्त करने के लिए इस expression का आमतौर पर use करते हैं। BUT WHY? The reason is to show the intensity of your sad or sorrow feelings by comparing it to something that's painful in reality and thus relatable. And this comparison is called as - METAPHORS English language में metaphors (जिन्हें हिंदी में रूपक अलंकार कहा जाता है) का काम है किसी एक चीज़ को दूसरी चीज़ से इस तरह compare or relate करना की आप अपनी बात के पीछे की exact feelings को सही तरह express कर सकें। And guess what, it makes you sound extremely smart and sophisticated. Let's understand METAPHORS with some examples: IN A NUTSHELL किसी चीज़ को summarize करना यानि संक्षेप में कहना • In a nutshell, Jane’s party was just boring. (कम शब्दों में// संक्षेप में कहूँ तो Jane कि पार्टी बहुत उबाऊ थी।) TROUBLED WATERS एक कठिन परिस्थिति या समय (a difficult situation or time) • A true friend always supports you through troubled waters. (एक सच्चा दोस्त हमेशा परेशानी के समय में आपको समर्थन देता है।) BOILING MAD बेहद नाराज़ व गुस्सा होना (To be extremely angry) • I got boiling mad when my sister broke my new iPhone. ( जब मेरी बहन ने मेरा नया iPhone तोड़ दिया तो मुझे बहुत तेज़ गुस्सा आ गया।) HAND OVER FIST तेजी से कोई काम करना (to do something very rapidly) • Once the business was set up, we started making money hand over fist. (एक बार व्यवसाय स्थापित होने के बाद, हम बहुत तेज़ी से पैसे कमाने लगे।) HARD AND FAST जिस चीज़ का सख्ती से पालन करना पड़े (something that is strictly or rigidly adhered to) • There are some hard and fast rules in this company; if you break them, you're out of here. (चिंता मत करो, यह काम मेरे लिए बहुत ही आसान है।) WALKING ENCYCLOPEDIA एक ऐसा व्यक्ति जिसके पास तथ्यों का प्रभावशाली ज्ञान हो (a person who has an impressive knowledge of facts) • He is a walking encyclopedia of constitutional laws.
