NOT FAIR! आइए आज हम सीखते हैं कुछ ऐसे English words का सही उच्चारण जिन्हें उनकी spellings के कारण हम गलत pronounce कर बैठते हैं। WOMEN इस शब्द को pronounce करने में गलती अक्सर इसलिए हो जाती है क्यूंकि हम WOMEN को उसकी singular form यानि Woman शब्द की तरह ही pronounce करते हैं। WOMAN is pronounced as वुमन (and not वुमैन) whereas WOMEN is pronounced as विमिन Incorrect वुमन or वुमैन Correct   विमिन VEGETABLE यहाँ बोलते समय सबसे आम गलती जो हम करते हैं वो है VEGETABLE के -TABLE को 'टेबल' pronounce करना। What we need to keep in mind is that TABLE (यानि मेज़), which is pronounced as टेबल, is a totally different thing. Don't mix it up here with 'vegeTABLE' The -table in the vegetable is pronounced as टबल Incorrect वेजिटेबल Correct   वेज्टबल BISCUIT This pronunciation error is a favorite among we Indians. Incorrect बिस्कुट  Correct   बिस्किट EXTEMPORE Spelling के कारण बहुत से लोग Extempore को एक्सटेम्पोर pronounce करते हैं जो की गलत है। The 'e' at the end is not silent but is pronounced as 'ई' Incorrect एक्सटेम्पोर Correct   एक्स्टेम्परी/ इक्स्टेम्परी  VINEYARD Spellings अलग होने के बाद भी कुछ लोग Vineyard की pronunciation को Wine की pronunciation से मिला कर बोलने की गलती करते बैठते हैं। हमेशा याद रखें WINE को वाइन pronounce किया जाता है लेकिन VINEYARD (wine बनाने में प्रयोग किये जाने में वाले अंगूर का बगीचा) को विनयार्ड या फिर विन्यर्ड बोला जाता है। Incorrect वाइनयार्ड Correct    विन्यर्ड/ विनयार्ड MONK Once again, it's not your fault, it's spelling that causes the mistake. Incorrect मोंक  Correct   मंक CACHE The -CH- in the middle is pronounced as श (not च) and the 'e' at the end is silent. Incorrect कैच/ कैचे Correct   कैश MEME When it comes to common pronunciation errors of today's generation, this one takes the cake. Social media की दुनिया में शायद सबसे ज़्यादा use होने वाले इस शब्द को ही सबसे ज़्यादा mispronounce किया जाता है। Hopefully, you won't do that anymore. Incorrect मेमे  Correct   मीम  TOMB Once again, it's the spelling that's to be blamed here. TOM is pronounced as टूम (not टॉम or टोम) and the 'b' at the end is more or less silent.
