It's too hot outside and that's why it's time to learn some more 'cold idioms and phrases' Those who live in and around Delhi must have experienced a weak but a refreshing cold snap yesterday. But, the scorching heat made it's way again and it's BOILING HOT OUT THERE! We left off with some COLD: Idioms and Phrases in our last blog and today we'll learn some more. COLD TURKEY Meaning: In a sudden and abrupt manner.(किसी पुरानी आदत को अचानक पूरी तरह से छोड़ देना) • After his father died of lung cancer, David stopped smoking cold turkey. • अपने पिता की lung cancer से मृत्यु होने के बाद, David ने एकदम से smoking की आदत को छोड़ दिया। TO GET KNOCKED OUT COLD Meaning: To become unconscious due to a physical condition or a blow like a punch. ( अचानक बेहोश होजाना ) • Sam drank a bit too much on his 21st birthday and got knocked out cold during the party. • Sam ने अपने 21 वें जन्मदिन पर थोड़ी ज़्यादा शराब पी ली और पार्टी के दौरान ही बेहोश हो गया। TO MAKE SOMEBODY'S BLOOD RUN COLD Meaning:  To shock or horrify someone. ( किसी को डराना या भयभीत करदेना ) • Nancy's blood ran cold when she realised that someone was following her on the street. • Nancy बहुत डर गयी जब उसे एहसास हुआ कि सड़क पर कोई उसका पीछा कर रहा है। A COLD DAY IN HELL Meaning: An event that will never happen ( इस idiom का प्रयोग तब किया जाता है जब किसी घटना का होना असंभव हो।) • It'll be a cold day in hell when I forgive you. • यह असंभव है कि मै तुम्हे माफ़ कर दूं। TO BLOW HOT AND COLD Meaning: A state of total confusion between two choices.
